When you think of courage, what comes to mind? Perhaps you think of Tony Curtis, one of the silver screen's greatest swashbucklers. Or maybe you think of Weary Dunlop, the great Australian wartime hero whose courage inspires us even today. If you are into sport, you might bring to mind any of our young Olympians who will stand face-to-face with the world's finest athletes.
But what about the modern day business leader? So often we find ourselves being threatened by things such as competition, financial stress, criticism, and unmet expectations. These things hit us hard, sometimes knocking us down and blowing away our confidence. When this happens, discouragement sets in and our productivity starts to drop off the charts. Sound familiar?
What every leader needs today is courage. To have courage doesn't mean you don't have fears. Rather, courage is the ability to persist in spite of your fears.
What Gives People Courage?
Listen to these words of en-couragement from the Bible: "Do not be afraid of your enemies or lose courage or panic. The Lord your God is going with you, and He will give you victory." Deut 20:3-4 (GNB)
Stick with it, and don't lose hope!
