Determination

During a hurricane in 1622 a small fleet of Spanish ships, loaded with gold and silver, sank off the Florida coast. For hundreds of years the ships' cargo lay hidden on the ocean floor–until treasure hunter Mal Fisher heard about the sunken riches and made up his mind to find them. For over 16 years he patiently scoured the sea floor in search of the treasure. His persistence finally paid off several years ago when his divers found two of the ships. All together, his underwater camera spotted an estimated 300 tonnes of gold, silver, artifacts, and ship remnants. Sixteen years is a long time to search, but when you understand the value of what you're looking for, the effort is worth it. Without determination, your dream will never become a reality!

Here's the recipe for determination:

• Keep looking ahead. Don't get sidetracked by unimportant details.
• If at first you don't succeed–try, try again. Quitters never win, and winners never quit!
• Be prepared to take risks. Everything worth pursuing carries a price tag.
• Be determined to survive the setbacks. Admit it–problems will come. Be ready to handle them.
• Work hard to achieve your goals. Nothing comes easy!
• Trust God. It's usually the last place people go for help, but why wait that long?
