One way marketers can trap you is by taping your verbal consent over the phone. By law, anyone who wishes to record your voice on the phone must have your permission to do so. Whenever you are being recorded, don't say "yes" to anything, as it can be used against you later. Insist on a written agreement which you can read carefully and then sign by hand.
When signing up for anything "free" such as a free trip, READ THE FINE PRINT CAREFULLY. You very well may also be authorizing the company to do other things, such as charging your for additional services or making undesirable changes to your utilities or bills.
